I haven’t blogged in a while because I’ve been SO incredibly busy! A combination of getting our home ready to put on the market, and preparing enough yarn to see us through a bunch of online orders that came in (yay!) and SIX fiber engagements (5 fiber fests & a trunk show) in 6 weeks…

Two Weeks of Marathon (no, IRONWOMAN!)
THANK YOU to all of our customers, to everyone who took the time to stop by our booth (even if you just looked or commented!) and THANK YOU to the staffs of Yarn Fest and Yarn Over. Your own hard work is GREATLY appreciated by this fledgling yarn dyeing company – Kathleen and I are VERY grateful!
Williamsburg Peace
This weekend I had moments when I was absolutely overwhelmed with exhaustion and pain, which is why the opportunity to sleep in today, rest in bed while I write a blog post, and just sit in the sun and knit are moments to be treasured. And I do. I’m a lucky woman.
Vacation! (?)
Our first day here we visited the Koresh Unity Historic Site. I’d actually visited this place back in 1991, when I took a solo 1-week vacation from grad school. Who but me would go, alone, to Florida for Spring Break to visit Celibate Utopian Historic Sites?
The Virtue of Enforced Patience
The classes were mixed skill level, we had very new knitters, and very experienced knitters. I LOVE these mixed classes, but they can be very draining, like spinning plates, with each one turning at a different speed.
AARP
So I’m blaming AARP for my first ‘spell’, as my mother would say. Apparently the tradeoff for those great discounts are lightheadedness and dizziness. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
Life On Hold For AMAZEMENT!
I got invited to a sort of “Tweet Summit” at the White House. It was 99% unexpected…
It was an opportunity for the people behind the scenes at The White House to meet with a group of folks who are known to be very active on social media.
One Knitter’s Road To DC
So while Andy and I are at the White House, Gerry will be exploring the Smithsonian. Then we’ll meet up late in the day and have dinner, perhaps look at the lights, and sight-see. Tuesday we’ll have some time before we have to head back to Earlham to drop Andy off, we’ll stay overnight so she can take her exam, then we’ll all come home together.
Resting & ReCharging
It’s been six weeks today since the arrival of Shingles in my life. I’ve been in such a fog that some days it feels as though I’ve had Shingles forever.
I’m taking the past two exceptional weekends of teaching as a sign that things are looking up, and no one can convince me otherwise!
Mini Vacations
I snagged a First Class upgrade and enjoyed every second of it, from the way the baggage guy sat up a little straighter when he saw my boarding pass, to the PRIORITY fast lane I got to go through at the TSA to the first-on-the-plane boarding and free drinks.
