Missing Muse
I’ve come to the sad conclusion that I’m in need of a regenerative boost – nothing seems to want to come together in the way I need it to (design-wise) so I’m going to try to step back a bit and concentrate on some other stuff. I feel like the little witch in Kiki’s Delivery Service (a movie I highly reccomend for anyone with kids – or who likes the idea of flying!) Hannah’s decided that for Halloween this year she’ll be Kiki – fabulous! In the movie Kiki loses her powers – and is advised by an artist friend to take a break. I’ll follow that advice, too!
In case you’re not familiar with Hayao Miyazaki’s work – well, you SHOULD be! The same themes repeat themselves in many of his movies – flying, freedom, self-sufficiency, being at one with nature and – yes – KNITTING! Plus so many of his characters are redheads – something we enjoy greatly in our house! I’m thinking of knitting him a sweater to thank him for these amazing films. His most recent release here in the US was Spirited Away, which won an Academy Award this year.
So – off to bed – I’m nursing a cold (the same one my daughter has – she was feverish yesterday and today, but seemed better this evening) Tonights my night for the fever, let’s hope it doesn’t move on to Maxie or Gerry!
