I love this graphic, and wanted to share it.
This has nothing to do with knitting, but it’s important to keep in mind.
Especially now that the Supreme Court’s determined that Money = Free Speech (!?)

Thank you for this, it’s difficult to get those facts and figures in one place in such concise format. I will be sharing this with my friends.
I hear you! (apologies for the bad pun…). Quote from Wikipedia about my country
“Australian media ownership has been described as one of the most concentrated in the world.[1] For example, 11 of the 12 capital city daily papers are owned by either Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation or by John Fairfax Holdings.[2]”

Thanks for this reminder. I try to read BBC, Al Jazeera, & several Norwegian newspapers on line.
I’d dispute that a bottom feeder like The Sun is a “top” European newspaper, but it is the biggest seller in the UK. How much attention its readership pay to political and economic issues is debatable (as opposed to gossip and half naked page-3 girls – oh, and sport. It has the best soccer coverage). Of bigger note is NewsCorp’s ownership of The Times.
With the current Levinson Inquiry into the shadier side of press dealings, I’m living in hope that bottom feeders like The Sun will be forced to clean up their acts. It’d be nice if NewsCorp were compelled to sell, but I doubt that will happen.
