I have a hard time visiting Ravelry now – which is a shame because it’s such an amazing site, and such a positive and wonderful boon to the fiber world.

A Few Days Off
Well, part of my squirming around was that partial disrobing trick that all women are familiar with – the “I’m taking off my bra but you can tell, la la la la la, look over there…” dance. Did I mention it was a sports bra?
Hope From Mr. Levine
October will mark an extended period of HOME TIME, and October will be pattern writing month. My current mental preparation before the onset of “Worksheet Wonderland” are like those initial folds in an origami project. (And it allows me to rationalize the time I’ve spent playing sudoku.)
Rome, and Home
I’m an almost 50-year-old, overweight Minnesotan. If I can handle the hills on a bike in Rome, there’s a good chance that many other folks can, too! A bike is a great way to get the ‘lay of the land’ – to get a sense of the scale and layout of a city – and the €10 I spent on the bike rental that Friday was some of the best money I spent!
Italy on Flickr
Once we arrived at the yarn shop we had the MOST wonderful time! The shop was crammed with happy knitters and crocheters, many of us couldn’t understand each other, but we spoke the universal language of FIBER!
Ciao!
I have learned a new phrase, “Non che glutine?” translated: “This Doesn’t Contain Gluten?”
It’s My Party!
I’ve not been to Italy for over 20 years – and I’ve NEVER been as far south as Rome. I’ve been to Florence a few times, but that’s it (that’s PLENTY!) To be able to go with a group of knitters, several of whom I know and just love, and to be able to share knitting tips and tricks and new patterns with them is going to be pure joy!

Growing New Skin
Well, I don’t hate the internet, I enjoy it. I’ve learned things, made friends, and have run my very small business through the internet. I feel it brings folks together much more than it ever could separate them. But the haters are hard to read, my friend.
Resting & Recovering
But my muscles and joints ache, my throat is sore, my ears are ringing – in short, I’m in a flare up. Di knows about this, and thankfully she also understands that what I have isn’t communicable, it’s just my wacky auto immune system on the fritz.
